If you can digest an overdose of physical violence, then Ghajini is a film you shouldn’t miss for Aamir Khan’s unforgettable performance.
It’s been years since I saw a Hindi film that had so few dialogues for the leading man. Quite unlikely for a masala movie about romance and revenge! Stoically, Aamir Khan walks and rips through the film with the charm of a Casanova and the beastliness of a vengeful man, and delivers a performance that will be remembered even though the movie itself may be forgotten after a few months.
‘Ghajini’ is a film that ought to be seen for the sheer novelty of its theme. Inspired – and to some extent, lifted – from Hollywood’s ‘Memento’, it tells the story of a man who can’t remember anything beyond 15 minutes. He suffers from short term memory loss. But somehow he has found ways to remind himself of just one thing – that he has to find and kill the man whose name his murdered lover ( Asin ) whispered in his ear just moments before he too was hit on the head with an iron rod, never to fully recover his memory again. So, through tattoos and polaroids and notes he keeps reminding himself of just one aim – to find Ghajini, the killer whose face and whereabouts he neither knows, nor can remember.
As our amnesiac hero, Sanjay Singhania (Aamir), closes in on Ghajini and goes about bumping off one bad guy after another, we are given repeated flashbacks into his past life, when he fell in love with a struggling model Kalpana (Asin), an Indianized version of the French ‘Amelie’ who helps the poor and needy on the streets. It is this very quality of Kalpana that makes her the target of a gangster, who hunts her down and kills her.
Now, Sanjay, with his limited memory and eight pack abs, lives for one purpose – revenge. He is like a loose canon, a self-propelled torpedo that keeps veering off the course and leaves behind a trail of broken bones, wrung necks and pummeled jaws wherever he passes through.
And oh! I almost forgot. There’s also Sunita ( Jiah Khan ), a medical student interested in the case study of our amnesiac hero. She’s a frail collegian who hinders and helps Sanjay in his mission.
Director A.R. Murugadoss tells a long story at a brisk pace and shows no frugality in depicting violence in all its goriness. It is blood curdling stuff gruesomely glorified. Stuff that gives you the heebie-jeebies! It’s mostly hand-to-hand combat with frequent use of iron rods that serve the sole purpose as skull-crushers. Repulsive!
But if you have stomach for such revolting violence, you would enjoy sitting through ‘Ghajini’ for many reasons. First, it’s unique plot. Second, Aamir’s mind-blowing acting. Third, Asin’s confident debut in a heart-winning performance. Jiah Khan is appropriately cast in a role that doesn’t demand much from her. Pradeep Rawat, as the antagonist, is menacing.
There is a gaping hole that yawns right at the very base of Ghajini’s story. If a man can’t remember that his lover was killed or who killed her, why does he need to remind himself again and again to take revenge. Wouldn’t his vengeance wane away with his memory? Murugadoss should have established some internal link that keeps pushing the protagonist back to his mission – something like sporadic dreams or memory flashes.
Anyway, realism is something you shouldn’t expect from ‘Ghajini’. It’s a full-on masala film that is stylishly shot and has above average music by A R Rahman . It’s a film that needs to be enjoyed with mouthful of cola and fistful of popcorns even though the no-holds-barred violence keeps getting on your nerves. Despite its long duration of three-plus hours, the movie, with its quick pace, doesn’t weigh heavy, and leaves you with a mind out of time. Anterograde Amnesia, anyone?

Google Earth Used by Terrorists in India Attacks
Google Earth Used by Terrorists in India Attacks
The terrorists that attacked various locations in south Mumbai last week used digital maps from Google Earth to learn their way around, according to officials investigating the attacks.
Investigations by the Mumbai police, including the interrogation of one nabbed terrorist, suggest that the terrorists were highly trained and used technologies such as satellite phones, and global positioning systems (GPS), according to police.
Google Earth has previously come in for criticism in India, including from the country's former President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
Kalam warned in a 2005 lecture that the easy availability online of detailed maps of countries from services such as Google Earth could be misused by terrorists.
Indian security agencies have complained that Google Earth exposed Indian defense and other sensitive installations. Other nations, including China, have made similar complaints regarding military locations.
However the places attacked by terrorists last week did not come under the category of defense or sensitive installations. The information available to the terrorists on Google Earth about the locations they attacked is also available on printed tourism maps of Mumbai. The locations included two hotels, a restaurant, a residential complex, and a railway station.

Apple iPhone
For the features, it is pretty good in interface. But even though it had 3g capability, I cannot use it here in India. There is no 3G in India but sooner or later it will be arrived. Tough its head phones are of poor quality considering such an awesome phone, but music quality is so good to ears and it can be further enhanced by purchasing a good headphone pair.I really take care of this pretty toy for a long time than any other phone in my life. Its true!

Five Essential Tips for Editing the Registry
keep yourself anxiety-free and your PC alive.
Editing the Windows Registry has the potential to improve your system’s performance, but making a mistake can destroy Windows and cause you great distress. Here are five tips for keeping yourself anxiety-free—and for keeping your PC alive.
The best protection from Registry hassles is to have a current full-system backup. You ought to create one right now, even if you’re not planning to mess with your Registry anytime soon. For a tutorial, read “how to Prevent a Data Disaster"
Before you open the Registry cleaner, use ERUNT (emergency Recovery Utility NT; to back up the Registry. i know, it’s redundant, since the Registry cleaner will back up any changes it makes, and since you (should) already have a full system backup. But having a separate Registry backup will make it easier to restore your system quickly if something goes wrong.
Prior to scanning with your Registry cleaner, close all other applications; if possible, unload any tools running in your system tray, too. Open apps constantly make Registry changes, and you want the Registry cleaner to do its work with no interference along the way.
When using a Registry cleaner, stay alert and read whatever the cleaning tool’s wizard has to say. With most other programs that employ wizards, it’s no big deal if you pay scant attention and just keep clicking the Next button. But that isn’t the case with Registry cleaners.
After the scan, the program will let you remove (or in some cases, repair) the Registry errors. if you are given the option, set the Registry cleaner to remove errors only at the safest and least-intrusive level. (you can scan again with more aggressive settings later on.) Even at that, you might see 1000 or even 2000 “safe” entries that need cleaning. For instance, Registry First aid found 2161 problems on my PC, of which it deemed about 1900 safe to alter. Whatever you do, never choose an auto cleaning option. Instead, be sure to approve each change manually, which keeps you in control.

Get 50% Cash Back with Giftmate at Futurebazaar.com
Giftmate has come back after a brief break with this 50% cash back offer in collaboration with Futurebazaar.com. That is for every purchase using your Giftmate voucher at Future Bazaar, you will be getting the 50% of the total purchase value as cash back into your Giftmate Account which you can use it for future purchases anywhere else.
Giftmate, as many of you might be knowing that, is famous for its awesome offers in the near past. But of late there has been not much or to say no offers or deals at all from Giftmate but they have come back strongly again with this offer. Unlike Giftmate’s previous offers this is a cash back offer in the form of Giftmate vouchers itself.
To explain in detail, to avail this offer, all you need to do is to buy Giftmate Vouchers between May 14, 2008 to May 28, 2008 and use the same for purchases at Futurebazaar.com. For example, if you shop for Rs. 500 at Futurebazaar you will get a cash back in the form of Giftmate vouchers worth Rs. 250, as simple as that. The free mobile gift voucher will be sent within seven days from when the offer closes and not immediately after you buy from Future Bazaar. And this free cash back voucher can be utilized till June 30, 2008.
Not really clear whether you can buy from Future Bazaar from already existing balance from the Giftmate, as it was not clearly mentioned there. But as far as I can tell from what I have understood, you need to buy the Giftmate vouchers during this offer and only through those vouchers you should buy from Future Bazaar, else you might or might not be eligible to get cash back from them.
The maximum free gift voucher that they send per person or mobile number is Rs. 500 during this offer period and is valid only for the first 4000 customers who utilize this offer. Hence try to avail this offer as quick as possible if you are planning for it, as it might not be guaranteed that you will be eligible to win this voucher once the first 4000 people have utilized this offer.
All the other regular Giftmate terms and conditions applies for this offer too which you all might be knowing exhaustively by now.
You can find more details about this offer here. This offer is valid from May 14, 2008 to May 28, 2008 only.

Disable Recent Docs History in Windows
Your computer has been programmed to store recently opened files in a folder named: Recent Documents. This has been established to make accessing of documents easier. Most people find this feature helpful and use it regularly. Others, especially those working on shared computers find the feature cumbersome and can hinder their privacy. It is true that the Recent Documents folder is a double edged sword. It can be very useful, giving the user quick access to recently opened documents while at the same time giving other individuals a window into the inner working of your computer.
If you are one of those people on a private computer and find the Recent Documents feature helpful, then keeping it will not prove to be problematic. But, if you do not use this feature, no matter if you are in a shared or private computer; it is advised for you to disable this.
Disabling the recent documents folder has been found to decrease the time that it takes to boot Microsoft Windows, and privacy comes as an added bonus. If you are using the Windows Vista version, it may help that you switch your start menu to the Classic view first so you can follow the instructions. What is the Classic View? The Classic view for the start menu is similar to those found in older versions of Windows and not the updated one of Vista. To switch to the Classic Start Menu view, Right Click on the START button found on the lower left hand side of your screen. In Windows Vista, this appears as an icon of the Microsoft Windows logo. Click Properties, pick the Classic Windows view and click OK. Now that you have changed it you can follow the same procedure for other Windows version when disabling the Recent Documents folder. In order to disable the feature, follow these steps:
Click START, then Click on the RUN tab. Type 'Regedit' on the text bar. This will open a new window, browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer. After you have done this, create a new DWORD value, this is essentially the same as creating a new folder. Create the DWORD value using the Key NoRecentDocsHistory and pick 1 for the value. That's it!
You have just disabled the Recent Documents Feature of your computer. In order to make this take effect, restart your computer. After that is done, you will no longer have a record of your recent documents.
Now that your recent documents have been disabled, you will be able to notice a slight difference in the time it takes for your computer to boot. Also, you do not need to worry about people who might be snooping around looking to get a look at what you have been up to recently. The Recent Documents folder is just one of those things that you can do without. Pretty much like the appendix in Human Anatomy. The whole can still function fully without that one part. In all cases, this can be viewed as a preventive action that helps you avoid any problems when it comes to your privacy.
